SAINT MARK'S MISSION & OUTREACH
COVID-19 Update
Beloved of God,

As you know St. Mark’s Vestry, Clergy and Staff are presently working on Phase 2 Plans to begin some in-person worship opportunities in the near future. We are taking our time with this process in an effort to keep our parishioners safe and healthy, and to prepare thoroughly before moving beyond online opportunities. Once we have completed our Phase 2 Plan and the vestry and bishop have approved it, we will begin to publicize our next steps toward public worship with limited capacities and duration. While we are nearing the completion of our Phase 2 planning, we are also keenly aware of the challenges emerging from the re-openings across the country and in New Mexico. With this in mind, please see the letter of caution from Bishop Hunn regarding public worship in the Diocese of the Rio Grande and his current recommendations. Please know that we do miss gathering in person as the people of St. Mark’s and that we are working toward a gradual and careful reopening for both church and school but that safety and health of those who call St. Mark’s their spiritual home is uppermost in our minds.

Virtual Training Session for the Summer of Conversation

Summer of Conversation Virtual Training
Thursday July 9, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

One of the core values of St. Mark’s is to be a deeply relational church. One of the ways we make this possible in the life of the community of St. Mark’s is to become more intentional about building relationships and listening more deeply to one another. To this end, we are initiating  A Summer of Conversation at St. Mark’s.  The concept is simple: Encourage conversations among our members that help people get to know one another, talk about why St. Marks’ is important to them and to get a sense for where they sense God at work in them and the congregation.

In this time of Covid-19 our training will be a bit different and our methods of having conversations may change a bit as well but we want to stay connected, develop deep relationships and discover together where God is at work in our faith community through listening to one another. Whether you know that you want to be involved or are just curious you are welcome to the training and preparation for this  Summer of Conversation . We already have a team of more than 20 forming to make this a great initiative and powerful way of staying connected in these isolating times.
St. Mark's Sunday Morning Coffee Hour

Each Sunday morning after St. Mark's on-line liturgy has ended, we gather in the same Zoom Meeting as the Eucharist to share conversation and check in with each other. There is open conversation beginning around 10:30 a.m. and time to get some coffee and a snack. At 11:00, the conversation is facilitated to ensure everyone has a chance to contribute. We also have a question for everyone to answer/discuss (if they care to do so) which brings our community closer together while we cannot meet in person. Please consider joining us each Sunday morning here:
