SAINT MARK'S MISSION & OUTREACH
Join us for the "Blessing of the Wheels"
Sunday, September 13th, 11AM-Noon in the EAST Parking Lot of St. Mark's (off Richmond)

Swing by St. Mark's on your bike, scooter, skateboard, unicycle, tricycle, motorcycle, car or truck for a blessing of the wheels (and/or helmets, if applicable), immediately following our online Sunday service this Sunday, September 13th. Fr. Christopher & Mo. Sylvia will be in the EAST parking lot from 11:00 a.m. to noon to offer you (and your wheels/helmets) a blessing!
Tree Removal/Falls at St. Mark's
Due to the intense wind we experienced in Albuquerque on Tuesday/Wednesday, St. Mark's had a tree down. We removed another tree near the Montessori School playground to ensure the safety of our preschoolers and teachers. Over the past two months, three large trees have needed to be removed, incurring a combined expense over $2,500. If you would like to help with this recent unexpected expense, we would welcome donations (in PayPal or on a paper check, please add "Tree Removal" in the memo field). To donate via PayPal, please click here.
Sunday Evening In-Person Eucharist
Last Sunday, we had a limited number of in-person, socially-distanced, masked parishioners who felt called to join us in a brief, yet sacred evening of Eucharistic liturgy in the Fish Garden (the grassy area outside the Stoney Chapel and Nave). This is an ideal way to start attending a safe, in-person liturgy again. If you'd like to attend this Sunday's evening Eucharist, please register, as space is limited. We will be blessed by your presence.

6:00 p.m. In-Person Holy Eucharist in the Fish Garden - please register here.
Inquirers' Class
Join us each week for a time of community building and faith-building discussion, usually centered around a brief article or reading on faith and the contemporary spiritual life. The brief reading assignments are normally emailed to class participants during the week prior to Sunday. Topics for each week’s discussion vary, sometimes come from within the group and are often quite lively. The class takes place via Zoom every Sunday from 12-1 p.m.

If you would like to attend Inquirers' Class, please sign-up here.
Summer of Conversation Comes to Coffee Hour in September
colorful_tree_chat.jpg
During the month of September, we will be enjoying an experiment during Coffee Hour with our Summer of Conversation Team. Our goal is to listen for where God is at work in each other’s lives and to create a thick network of relationships that make St. Mark’s an unusual parish of connections. We invite any and all members of St. Mark’s to tune into coffee hour at 11 a.m. on Sundays -- via Zoom -- and enjoy the opportunity to have a conversation with someone you may or may not know in a breakout room. We’ll provide a guiding question or two and then let people’s interest and curiosity carry the rest of the conversation. We look forward to the conversation.

Last Sunday's Offertory Song: Now the Green Blade Riseth
Each week, different members of St. Mark's contribute their talents to create a video for our offertory song. Click here to view last Sunday's Offertory Song, featuring musicians Art Dougherty and Gayle Keenan offering a lively rendition of this favorite Easter Hymn, accompanied by images from Resurrection, a silk painting by Anne Gordon Fritz.

Musical Co-conspirators Wanted!
hand_holding_note.jpg
Mother Sylvia is looking for musical co-conspirators of all ages to assist in creating offertory music for our online Sunday services, using an app for Apple product called, Acapella. This week's project is a simple (8-bar) round--we can send you the sheet music and an audio file so that you can learn the music in advance of recording. If you're interested in helping out this week -- or in the future -- please contact Mother Sylvia via email or by text 510-932-1315.  Novices welcome; we're all learning together!
