SHERMAN INDIAN HIGH SCHOOL

It’s time to begin gathering items for Sherman Indian High School 2026-2027 school year!

Items can be brought to the Narthex from Sunday, July 26 to Sunday, August 23. We will then deliver them to Native American United Methodist Church in Anaheim.

Once again we at Cal Heights will be collecting ART SUPPLIES. The following are items being collected: (all items should be new)

• sketch pads
• drawing paper
• tracing paper
• colored pencils (artist type) 
• art markers
• gel pens 

Gifts cards from Michaels are also accepted.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE
A Celebration of Life for Judy Reeves will be held on Saturday, August 15 at California Heights United Methodist Church in Long Beach, California at 2:00 PM. 

This will be a wonderful gathering for family and friends with excellent music, remembrances, and a sermon by Rev. Scott Andrews.

If you’re unable to attend in person, we welcome your participation and presence online. The Livestream accessibility will be shared shortly.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL

It's hard to believe, but schools will be returning to their full swing at the end of August! To acknowledge this, we are going to celebrate all of our students, faculty, and staff members of the various schools.

On Sunday, August 23, we will have a special time in our 10:00 AM worship service to bless all the students, faculty, and staff members of our congregation.

GIVING ON LINE

While placing our offering in the plate each Sunday is the way many of us grew up giving to the church, it is no longer the only way to give.

At Cal Heights UMC, we utilize Vanco for our online giving.

HARMONY BOUND CRAFTERS

The Harmony Bound Crafters are meeting on first and second Saturdays of each month from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

River Rafting Trip 2026! 

Aug 22-23, 2026

Youth entering 6th-12th gr.

Cost $250 includes transportation, lodging, Kern River guides rafting trip and 3 meals

After a super successful river rafting trip last year, we are returning to raft the Kern River this summer. All youth entering 6th-12th grades are invited to join the fun. Hosted by ministry-safe certified parent volunteers, the trip includes an afternoon of river rafting, pizza dinner, games, and small group devotions. We will worship together on Sunday morning and head home. Contact Pastor Melinda for more information (e: Pastor@BelmontHeightsUMC.org)
