On July 10, 2023, The Michigan Theatre began its long awaited restoration. Scaffolding currently covers the entire eastern portion of the auditorium. Demolition of decayed plaster is complete and new molds for medallions are being made daily. Nearly 60 new medallions will be created and installed in phase two of the project.
The installation of the new HVAC system installation is in process and a completion date is within sight.
