During our Personalized Learning Day on February 20, we had the highest number of participants to date at the Middletown Arts Center, Middie Meal Machine, and City building. Nearly 150 students signed up to view their artwork on display, engage in a clay art project, get free lunch, and participate in a scavenger hunt throughout the City building.
Thanks to the collaborative effort of our Passport to Tomorrow staff and the City Manager, the scavenger hunt provided students with real-world experiences. Students traveled from floor to floor, earning stamps in their "passport," by learning how police officers use fingerprinting technology, how to pay a water bill, how to fill out a job application, and how building floorplans and permits work.
Perhaps the most valuable experience for the entire community was how the Parks Department allowed students and their families to provide feedback and ideas on how to improve individual parks within our community.
Thank you to Miami University, Cintas, AMS Parts, Crane Consumables, Precision Strip, Phillips Tube, Midpointe Library, and Middletown Flight Training for also opening their doors to our students. Thank you also to Butler Tech, Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum, Ohio Living, Magellan, and Atrium Medical Center for opening their doors to our Middle School staff.
