Message from Superintendent Deborah Houser:

As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of education, one thing remains constant: the fundamental importance of reading. Reading is the cornerstone of education and personal growth. It is through reading that we gain access to knowledge, explore new worlds, and cultivate critical thinking abilities. For young learners, the ability to read is a passport to academic success and a fulfilling life. From comprehending textbooks and excelling in exams to enjoying literature and fostering empathy through stories, reading remains at the heart of everything we do in school.

Research consistently shows that students who are strong readers are more likely to succeed in every aspect of their education. They not only perform better in various subjects but also develop more extensive vocabularies and better communication skills, which serve them well in their future careers and personal relationships. As your Superintendent, I want to underscore that our commitment to promoting reading at every stage of the K-12 journey is unwavering. We encourage parents and guardians to foster a love for reading at home and participate actively in their child's reading progress. By working together, we can ensure that all our students have the necessary tools to unlock a world of opportunities through the power of reading. Thank you for your dedication to your child's education, and remember, every page turned is a step toward a brighter future.
