Message from Superintendent Deborah Houser:

I am absolutely thrilled to welcome each and every one of you to the start of a brand-new school year here in Middletown City Schools! As your new Superintendent, I want to express my heartfelt excitement for the incredible journey that lies ahead.


The smooth start we've had is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our incredible staff, teachers, and administrators who have worked tirelessly to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all. From the first bell to the final dismissal, we are committed to providing the best educational experience for your children. As we embark on this new journey together, I look forward to fostering a spirit of collaboration, innovation, and growth within our district. Personalized Learning Day:

More than 3,000 students took part in our first Personalized Learning Day of the school year on September 5th.


The top 4 activities students selected from the Choice Board were:

  1. Do chores or maintenance around the house
  2. Explore the outdoors
  3. Play a board game
  4. Read a book, e-book, or magazine

Donation impacts Middletown families


Employees at MyUSA Credit Union, one of MCSD's business partners, raised $2,000 to benefit the new Compassion Food Pantry at the Butler County Educational Service Center. The food pantry will help give families in Middletown access to fresh meat, dairy, eggs, and produce all locally sourced.

Funding for Barricade Bucket Safety Project completed


MCSD and its community partners are proud to announce the Barricade Bucket Safety Project has been fully funded! Thanks to community donations, a Barricade Bucket will be placed in all 465 classrooms across all 10 schools in the district.

Adopt A Class partnership expanding


MCSD is celebrating one year of partnering with the non-profit organization Adopt A Class, to connect businesses and civic groups with students. The partnership is now expanding to include new programming at Amanda and Creekview Elementary, as well as continuing programming at Mayfield and Wildwood Elementary.
