What better way to spend your lunch break than in the lovely shade at Dante Park while listening to sensational jazz music? Today's Summer Jazz Sensations performance at Noon will feature the fabulous Mike Jackson Trio. Complete with organic and delicious refreshments by Le Botaniste (all under $5!) and a “Chair-y Yoga” stretch break between performance sets provided by the West Side YMCA. We hope you will join us at Dante Park on West 64th Street and Broadway!

Among jazz guitarists, Mike Jackson is a legend. For his 12th birthday, he received his first guitar. While still in his teens, Mike backed up popular artists of the day, such as Solomon Burke, The Marvelettes, Marvin Gay, and many others. He was a prominent player on the Washington, D.C. nightclub scene and the so-called Chitlin’ Circuit. In the late 60s, Jackson turned his attention to jazz. And the rest is history. He has performed with many greats in jazz, like Jack McDuff, Milt Jackson, Johnny Hartman, Billy Hart, and many others.

The 90-minute outdoor jazz concert series is open to the public for free and held every Wednesday from Noon to 1:30 PM in Dante Park. Rain dates are on Fridays of the same week, same time, same place. Be sure to join the fun every week to see more amazing performers. See the full lineup and find out all the details here. This year’s series runs through August 30, 2023, and will continue to feature exciting talent, delicious treats from neighborhood restaurants, educational and wellness demonstrations, and plenty of community fun!
