Can’t Build Without It

Hello District 6970,

November is Rotary Foundation Month — a time to celebrate one of the greatest strengths of our organization: The Rotary Foundation. Established in 1917, our Foundation remains the solid base on which all Rotary service is built.

Just as any builder knows, you can’t create anything lasting without a strong foundation — and the same is true for our work as Rotarians. The Foundation allows us to turn ideas into action: fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, growing local economies, and promoting peace.

Here in District 6970, we’ve seen how Foundation dollars return to us through grants that strengthen our clubs and uplift our communities. Every contribution — no matter the size — helps ensure that Rotary’s impact continues for generations to come.

So this month, let’s each do our part. Whether it’s a recurring gift to the Annual Fund, a PolioPlus donation, or support for the Endowment, it all matters.

When we give to the Foundation, we’re not just supporting Rotary — we’re investing in a world built on Service Above Self.

Let’s continue to #UniteForGood.

Have a great Rotary week, friends!

Rotary Youth Exchange Student Spotlight

Today’s spotlight is on Soren, sponsored by the Rotary Club of St. Augustine. Soren is on exchange in Kyoto, Japan; his host club is the Rotary Club of Kyoto-Rakuto.Here is an excerpt from Soren’s latest journal:

“… My school also has a fantastic exchange program, which provides me with tons of benefits. Like this past Wednesday (the 15th of October) I attended Kabuki. Kabuki is a form of classical theatre and is quite a privilege to watch it, to my knowledge, and I was given tickets for free from my school. I have also been given tours of different factories and exclusive areas due to my school’s program. On the topic of school, school is so much more enjoyable than American schools. It might be because I am extremely popular in school…”
