Week 3 of Vocational Service Month

As we move through Week 3 of Vocational Service Month, it’s a great time to pause and reflect on how our daily work becomes an extension of our Rotary service. Vocational Service reminds us that service doesn’t stop when a meeting ends; it continues in our offices, job sites, classrooms, businesses, and communities every single day.

Rotarians are leaders, problem-solvers, and professionals who understand that ethics matter. The way we conduct business, make decisions, and treat others speaks volumes about who we are and what Rotary stands for. Integrity, accountability, and fairness are not just ideals; they are actions we demonstrate through our vocations.

This week, think about how your professional skills are making a difference. Are you mentoring a colleague? Creating opportunities for others? Leading with honesty during tough decisions? Vocational Service challenges us to be role models, showing that success and service can, and should, go hand in hand.

Collaboration is another powerful piece of Vocational Service. When trust is built through ethical behavior, partnerships grow stronger and our impact expands. Together, we can open doors, share knowledge, and lift up our communities in meaningful ways.

As Rotarians, we proudly live the motto Service Above Self, and through our vocations, we truly Unite for Good, one ethical choice, one professional action, and one community impact at a time.

The Council on Legislation plays a vital role in shaping the future of Rotary, serving as Rotary International’s legislative body and giving districts a voice in the policies that guide our organization worldwide. 1-million-views image

The Rotary Club of Palatka hit a major digital milestone this week when its Facebook page exceeded 1 million views in 2025 — the highest engagement in the club’s history and a powerful boost for its outreach efforts. The milestone is particularly noteworthy for a local service organization, as nonprofits and civic groups rarely achieve such high engagement. Strong audience participation — including comments, shares, and reactions — helped extend the club’s message farther than ever before.

“This is a huge moment for us,” said Public Image Chair Chris Gent. “Our supporters didn’t just view our posts — they amplified them. Their excitement helped carry our mission well beyond our city.” Gent emphasized that the milestone reflects both growing community pride and increasing interest in the club’s service work throughout Palatka.
