This Is Our Time To Honor
The Call To Service We All Embrace
Many people the world over heed the call to service. If they didn’t, there probably wouldn’t be Rotary for, surely, it seems service is in the heart of every Rotarian – each committed to freely giving service in her or his own way, and all joined together in a powerful force making the world a better place.
In every club’s best tradition this time of year, a special lunch meeting or dinner banquet is planned to remember those good works done in the past year
and to learn of new ideas for the coming year. it’s a time set aside to honor those among us who have made the commitment to serve their clubs and shoulder the added responsibilities of leadership.
For those who attend as family, friends, and supporters, it’s also a time to recognize the value of our organization and salute the good we do.
So, for your club, let it be a moment of good cheer! After giving thanks for the food and fellowship, give heartfelt praise to the retiring club leaders as well as those stepping up for the coming year. Wish for the new leaders the humility to accept the wisdom and advice of their predecessors, the insight to know their club’s heart, and the determination to forge ahead to better times. Then, gathered together in celebration, give thanks for all that Rotary service has added and continues to add to all our lives!
