Rotarians Against Malaria

Rotary Action Group

Rotarians Against Malaria – Global Rotary Action Group (RAM-G), is a volunteer group of Rotarians who partner with other Rotarians’ efforts, with local and international groups, and with individuals to control Malaria. Group members study and implement all proven methods that lower malaria in an expedient timeframe. Once these are successful, efforts are scaled up. 

Ending Malaria saves lives and helps stop the cycle of poverty

In 2019, Malaria claimed 409,000 lives and caused 229 million cases. 67% of deaths were in children under the age of 5 years.

Malaria accounts for half of missed days in African schools. It may occur several times in children during the year in endemic countries. They cannot go to school and learn effectively, ultimately impacting their ability to earn a living. Keeping children healthy enables parents to go to work and reduce the need to spend their wages on malaria treatments and health care.

Jags-Rotary District 6970 Polio Partnership a Success

Once again the Jaguars partnership for the eradication of Polio was a great success. Thanks to ticket purchases and suite sales, District 6970 raised $18,000. When you consider the Gates match, this means a $54,000 contribution to PolioPlus for 2023-24.

Congratulations to Suite Raffle winner Marie Turnbull who enjoyed the win over the Colts with 20 Rotarians and friends.
