Rotarians Address Mental Health Issues Head On

One of RI President Gordon McInally’s key initiatives this year is to raise awareness of the mental health challenges many are facing in an increasingly complex world.


President Gordon speaks powerfully from personal experience and his passion for the issue stems from how mental illness has affected his family and his life.

President Anita O’Donnell, RC St. Augustine Sunrise, has taken action to start a District 6970 Chapter of the Rotary Action Group on Mental Health. Anita’s vision is to partner with clinicians, schools, pediatricians and others to the break the stigma of mental health by raising awareness and increasing the capacity of services in Northeast Florida.


Anita is available to speak to your club and to share more information, and are welcoming members to the group.

Patti Chapman

District 6970 Executive Secretary


Patti serves as Executive Secretary of District 6970 and the York Foundation 501c(3). She is the Financial and Administrative Manager and only employee of the District. She has served with distinction in that role for 17 years. Additionally, she serves as Club Administrator for RC South Jacksonville (28 years) and RC West Jacksonville (15 years).


Many of you know Patti from answering questions and solving problems related to Dues invoicing, expense reimbursement, paying the District’s bills, and negotiating the DacDB Calendar and Registration systems.


She is well known as the glue that keeps this band of volunteers together.


Thank You Patti, for your dedicated service to District 6970.

American Cancer Society check presentation


Rotary Orange Park Sunrise presented a check for $26,500 to the American Cancer Society from their annual Tennis4Cancer event.
