Thanks Giving . . . It’s Two Words
And it’s our national heritage to celebrate both. We offer thanks for the bounty we have and for the good fortune that has come our way. We give of ourselves, and we give of the fruits of our labor. We even made a holiday to honor that first Thanksgiving as a celebration for the good that had come from hard work and determination, and the sharing of that good with new neighbors to nurture trust, friendship, and understanding.
So next Thursday, whether you enjoy your holiday with a small group at a friend’s home or a big gathering of family from all around the country, consider the young people at the table with whom you can share and continue the traditions. Talk of caring and sharing, of service beyond yourself, creating joy and laughter, and giving of our hearts as well as our wallets.
My Dad used to say,
“give thanks and GIVE . . . Thanks!”
May this Thanksgiving be for you a day of
giving shared and new memories made!
