Prime Property | NY | West Village | 534 Hudson Street | |
Classic, West Village views from every window of this luxurious, light-filled two-bedroom, two-bath home at the corner of Hudson and Charles Streets. The entry foyer of Residence 5D in The Kimberly opens to an expansive, open-plan living area with a dual-aspect, wood-burning fireplace, a dining area with seating for 12 and a bright, windowed, corner reading nook with banquette and built-in bookcases.
The centerpiece of the living area is the chef’s kitchen with white marbled quartz countertops including a waterfall island with a deep, undermount Shaws sink, handcrafted in England, and bar stool seating. The appliance suite offers a Wolf four-burner gas range with hood, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, a Wolf microwave, a Bosch SilencePlus dishwasher and a wine refrigerator. Custom white shaker cabinetry, which extends into the dining area to provide a built-in credenza, is echoed below the reading nook banquette.
Completed in 1998 on the site of the former taxi garage made famous by the Emmy Award-winning television program Taxi, The Kimberly is a contemporary boutique condominium with an elevator, a landscaped interior courtyard and full-time door staff. The Kimberly is a pet-friendly community and is served by the 1 (four blocks away), 2, 3, A, B, C, D, E, F, L and M trains and the Saturday Greenmarket at Abingdon Square.
On the United States National Register of Historic Places and a New York City Landmark, Greenwich Village, with its cobblestone streets and historic architecture, is one of the city’s centers of culture. From jazz clubs such as the Village Vanguard and Smalls to art galleries such as the Westbeth and the Whitney Museum of American Art, the West Village provides myriad opportunities to enjoy the arts. The exciting nightlife of the Meatpacking District, the nature found along the Hudson River Greenway and on Little Island, local boutiques and outstanding dining at Michelin-starred Wallse, Jeju Noodle Bar and Atera and local favorites Dante West Village, La Ripaille, Employees Only and Myers of Keswick, make the West Village one of the most attractive neighborhoods in New York City.
