The Line | Congressional Budget Office Economic Forecast
|
|
Here is what the CBO is forecasting for 2021:
- The U.S. economy will grow 3.7%
- Unemployment will fall to 5.3%
- Inflation will remain tame
- No Fed hikes, in fact they predict the Fed won’t raise rates until mid-2024
All this is great news, especially since these numbers do not factor in the US President’s proposed $1.9 trillion stimulus. After what we have been through the past year, a positive economic outlook is exactly what we need to hear.

NY | Lunar New Year Friendship Boxes | Pearl River Mart
|
|
In 1971, a group of young overseas Chinese men and women decided that China had much to offer America and worked together to open a small “friendship” store in New York City's Chinatown. This was a radical idea at the time, as diplomatic relations between China and the United States were frozen and direct trade was strictly forbidden. Somehow, they found a way.
Mere months after the store’s opening, President Nixon and Chairman Mao shook hands in Beijing, and Pearl River’s storied place in history as the world’s first Chinese American department store began.
The owners of Pearl River Mart continue their support of the community with their sponsorship of Light Up Chinatown, an art installation and project to raise funds and awareness to sustain the many small businesses in this historic New York neighborhood.
From lucky candy to red lai see envelopes, the Lunar New Year Friendship Box is an auspicious gift to celebrate the Year of the Ox.
