The Miracle of the Method

Scripture: Romans 11:33-36 ; Matthew 3:7-18 If we were writing the script for the redemption of humanity, we would certainly have written it differently than God. God chose to reveal the Divine to us in the greatest, grandest possible way, and also in a way that we could understand. So Jesus came into the world as a helpless, defenseless baby. God chose to be born to humble, poor parents. Jesus wasn't born in a palace but in a stable. He was born to a young couple whose hearts were pure but who held no worldly influence. They were plain, ordinary individuals. Yet they were the ones God chose to be the parents of Jesus. This is part of the Miracle of Christmas. We are embarking on the last week of a two-week study of African American Christmas Spirituals that point us toward freedom as they did the slaves of the Civil War era. Join us on Wednesday, December 19 at 6:15pm.

Christmas Celebration

All are invited to join us for the Cornerstone Cookie Exchange at 5:00pm on Sunday, December 23 in the Freeman House. This is an opportunity for everyone to bring 2-3 dozen of their favorite Christmas cookies to share and exchange with others. Treat bags for carrying some of your favorites home will be provided. This will be a fun time of fellowship with sweet treats, punch, coffee and Christmas Song Karaoke for the whole family! We will present our Carols and Lessons Christmas service at 6:30pm on Sunday, December 23 . This will be a time for reading from the sacred text and singing Christmas carols. Plan to join us for this beautiful candlelight service.

Something So Small, Could Be So Big!!

I just wanted to share with the Congregation that once again we have made ourselves shine in the community. I would like to thank each and every one of you for making a difference with all your kindness and generosity for Leinkauf Elementary. We collected: 37 pairs of pants  24 polo shirts  40 plastic folders  6 pencil bags

Good Job Everyone!!

I just wanted to share something about myself being an Outreach Minister. I just had my eyes opened once again by this ministry. While getting ready for church Sunday, I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to wear. This pair of pants was too dark, this pair makes my hips look big, this pair too long etc... Then Tuesday night when it was really cold outside, my eyes were opened by a little girl that had the same problem I had. She couldn’t figure out what to wear to school that day. The only difference was she didn’t have anything to pick from. This broke my heart. That little girl had to wear shorts that day to school. It was 37 degrees outside.   We made a difference in that child’s life. You the Congregation made the difference!!!   Thank you very much for your support. ~ Heidi Robinson, Outreach Minister

Giving Tree

The "Giving Tree" will be up until after Christmas. Many of the ornaments have pictures of items our Ministry Teams use, such as AA rechargeable batteries for the Media Team; the Worship Team uses communion wafers; the Hospitality Team has need of paper plates and bowls, plastic forks and spoons to mention a few items. We can always use printer paper whether it is a package or a case. Remove the ornament from the tree (if you need to take it with you as a reminder, do so). A box will be near the tree for the ornaments. It is important you return the ornament because we may want to use said ornament next year. Each gift you purchase for Cornerstone MCC is an expense the Church does not have. Be generous, please.
