Sunday Scripture: Isaiah 42: 1-9
On Sunday we explored the promises of hope and renewal found in Isaiah 42, a prophetic call that not only pointed to Jesus Christ but also speaks to us, the Church, today. In our annual "State of the Church" address, Pastor Charlie highlighted the incredible strides we've made in worship, study, connection, and service over the past year, and looked ahead to the exciting new things God is declaring for us in 2026. Hear how we're shining our light in the community and beyond while being inspired to join in this meaningful journey.
Questions for Reflection:
1. Isaiah 42 promises that the servant 'will not grow faint or be crushed until he has established justice.' How does this promise sustain you when justice work feels slow, discouraging, or overwhelming?
2. The prophet declares 'new things' are coming, even as we celebrate what God has already accomplished. What new thing might God be calling Memorial to step into in 2026? What could God be personally calling YOU to in 2026?
3. Memorial's mission statement emphasizes that Christ's love 'shows up' through worship, study, connection, and service. Which of these four areas do you feel most naturally drawn to? Which area challenges you toward growth?
