We recently hosted a Graduation Breakfast to celebrate our upcoming December 2022 graduates! We can’t wait to see them be recognized at UK's upcoming Commencement Ceremony on Friday, December 16th at 10am! All CPH graduating pictures will be shared using #ukcphgrad2022 on social media. Spearhead by Angie Carman and Anne Ray, a new "learning lab" was recently piloted in our CPH 746 course where students worked together in a "learning lab" to create evaluation plans for the Tobacco-Free Schools initiative led by the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky. The CPH 746 course, in part, focuses on program evaluation methods and plans to build on implementing more "real-world" experiences for students to positively contribute to the community.

CPH researchers, in collaboration with investigators from the College of Medicine and the College of Communication and Information at UK, and the Kentucky Department for Public Health, are leading a 5-year, $3.7 million project to study COVID-19 vaccination hesitancy in Eastern Kentucky.

Nearly every person in the United States has been exposed to per- and polyfluorinated alky substances (PFAS) at some point in their life. These “forever chemicals” are the focus of a targeted investigation by University of Kentucky Superfund Research Center (UKSRC) researchers, including our own Dr. Erin Haynes, who are working collaboratively with community partners to protect Kentuckians.

Our own Keith Knapp was recently selected to receive the 2023 American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) Journalism Award, which recognizes an individual or organization for excellent journalistic achievement representing fair and accurate content related to the post-acute and aging services industry. Keith has been invited to be recognized at the ACHCA Annual Convocation & Expo event in April of 2023.

NEW KIPRC REPORT: This is an annual report on emergency department visits for a nonfatal drug overdose among Kentucky residents from 2017 through 2021 and includes demographic data related to patient sex, race/ethnicity, age, and payer status.
