UK Researcher: Are Life Stressors Better Predictors of Plaque Buildup in Arteries Than Race?

With a two-year grant from the UK Center for Clinical and Translational Science KL2 Career Development Program, our Dr. Meredith Duncan is studying whether social determinants of health (SDOH)—the economic, social, environmental, and psychosocial factors that influence health—paint a more accurate picture of someone’s risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) than race. 

IPH-C launches first live podcast "Connect the Dots: The Making of Meaningful Metrics"

IPH-C is launching their first live video podcast event series on YouTube called “Connect the Dots: The Making of Meaningful Metrics”, which will be an in-depth, and broadly accessible, exploration of innovative approaches for translating assessment data into meaningful metrics across the helping professions. The first live episode is launching on Tuesday, January 10th at 3pm and is hosted by Marc Lardner, Senior Policy Analyst at IPH-C.

KyOD2A Happenings releases latest newsletter

The latest issue of KyOD2A (Kentucky Overdose Data 2 Action) Happenings, the newsletter created by the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center (KIPRC) which shares information about drug overdose prevention research, community initiatives, data reports, and resources relevant to Kentucky, is now available.
