Recert
Why Recertify? Are Your Signal Monitors Up to Spec?

Traffic signal cabinets continuously operate in harsh environments that subject mission critical electronics to the constant onslaught of heat, cold, moisture, insects, power surges, and other unforgiving conditions. EDI Signal Monitors are designed to withstand the challenging operational environment within intersections. Performing factory recertification, on a routine basis, provides documented verification that your signal monitors meet the specified requirements.

All signal monitors returned for recertification will be subjected to rigorous factory testing in accord with our ISO 9001:2015 quality program on a quick turnaround basis, in order to get monitors back in service quickly.

To be in compliance with our user manual, recertified monitors may be returned in the second year for testing on an industry standard tester with report at no extra cost.  We can customize a testing and recertification program designed for annual monitor testing and factory updates based upon agency requirements.

To find out if your monitors are compliant, contact your local EDI reseller at 1.480.968.6407 or visit  https://www.editraffic.com/recertification/.

Inductive
Inductive Loop Systems Remain the Top Solution for your Vehicle Detection Applications
These are not your Fathers' or Grandfathers' Detectors and Loops!

The basis of Inductive Loop detection has not changed in over 40 years of use in detecting vehicles at intersections, entrances and exits to parking lots, drive-thru restaurants or secure areas. However, the advancement of the technology now allows for better, more accurate and robust systems that will last longer than before and work better than what was previously available just 20 years ago.

The advancement of digital signal processing and microprocessors, over analog circuitry, is one significant change. The other is the materials and changes made to the loop wire, loop cable and the loops themselves. Our superior RAE loop products incorporate Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) insulation, pre-tinned wire, and glass-impregnated polycarbonate splice housings, to provide the ultimate inductive loop detection solutions for all your vehicle detection applications.

With the technology today, Reno A&E (RAE) has developed a detector for differentiating bicycles from other vehicles on the road utilizing modified algorithms in our C model detector and our prefabricated loops, thus making intersections safer for bicyclists and more efficient for traffic engineers and the driving public.

RAE continues to be the world's leading manufacturer of prefabricated loops for parking, access, traffic, and railway control applications.  Along with Eberle Design Inc. (EDI), we are the global leader of mission-critical intersection safety and vehicle detection devices

In regards to roadway loops, there are some major operational differences between a "Wound-in-the-Ground" loop and Prefabricated loops. There are several physical differences between the two types such as wire separation, issues with vibration between separate turns of the wire, movement between the turns of the wire and saw cut depths. The Reno loop series of prefabricated loops eliminate issues with vibration or movement and require less depth for installations, making it much more reliable than wound-in-the-ground loops for detection. Our custom designed wire and cable utilizes many layers of XLPE insulation along with providing excellent thermal, electrical and physical properties to resist abrasion, moisture and chemicals.

RAE manufactures the Prefabricated Loops in many standard configurations and in any shape and size, the customer may need and for any application needing inductive loops. Depending on the application there are four different series of prefabricated loops to choose from:
  • UltraLite (PLA Series) utilized for parking and access and security.
  • UltraEasy (PLB Series) ¼ inch saw cut applications
  • UltraStrong (PLH Series) new construction and under new lifts
  • UltraRugged (PLH-R Series) rail and gravel road applications
Utilizing RAE or EDI vehicle detectors with the RAE prefabricated loop provides the most reliable vehicle detection system today and delivers an extremely long life cycle for your overall access, traffic or railway control system.
