We celebrate the First Communion of our Children at the 5pm Vigil Mass today, and after Mass, in celebration, with the families, we will have cake and punch on the patio. Please join us in congratulating our children!

Fr. John Gillespie celebrates his GOLDEN JUBILEE
50 Year Anniversary of Ordination
On Friday, May 13 2022 at a special
5:00pm Mass, we will celebrate
Fr. John Gillespie's 50th Anniversary of Ordination with him at Holy Faith.

On this joyous occasion we will continue the celebration with a reception
following the Mass, in the
Fr. John M. Phillips Parish Life Center.

Fr. Gillespie is well known by many in our community. All who know and love him are invited and welcomed to join us in celebration of his faithful service to the church and the community.

AT HOLY FAITH WE BEGIN THE CELEBRATION WITH OUR MAY CROWNING EVENT.

OUR BLESSED MOTHER STATUE.

May 1: CCF CLASSES for Grades Kinder thru 9th,

Classes follow the May Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary statue at the 9:30am Mass, by our First Communion, CCF Students and all the children. First Communion children should come in their beautiful communion attire. This is a special event and for the first time, in a long time, that we crown Mary inside the church at Mass.

Please bring the children to participate and witness our faith,
love and honor of our Blessed Mother' love for us, her children.

After the Crowning, the CCF children should go to their classes (grades Kinder thru 9th) for a special session of CCF, which will end at noon as usual.

No CCF on May 8. Blessed Mother's Day to all Moms (of any kind).


On May 8 at the 6pm Mass Bishop Estévez will confer the
Sacrament of Confirmation on the youth of our parish.
Please keep them in your prayers that the the accept and respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit throughout the rest of their lives.

in the Fr. John M. Phillips Parish Life Center
Holy Faith will premiere a shared viewing of “The Chosen”, a hugely popular series on Jesus Christ in the Fr. John M. Phillips Parish Life Center on Saturday, May 7 from 2pm to 4pm. We will binge on Jesus together by viewing and discussing episodes. All ages, children, teens, young adults, couples and elders are encouraged to come for fun and fellowship. Come and continue the experience of the Joy of the Easter Season with your Holy Faith Family! (babysitting available—call the office to reserve)

We are excited for those who have already signed up to be involved as a volunteer in ministry, and will be contacting all of our newest volunteers in all different ministries soon. May 6th: First Friday (see details in the bulletin) Note the addition of a 6pm Mass, with anointing of the sick and healing prayer available.

May 7th: All Parish Event ... Popcorn, Pizza & Jesus (Showing of "The Chosen")

May 8th: Youth Confirmation

May 10th: Anointing of the Sick follows the 9:30am Mass (every 2nd Tuesday of the Month), with prayer teams for personal prayers of any kind.

May 13th: Fr. John Gillespie celebrates his Golden Jubilee

May 15th: CCF Family Breakfast during CCF time

IN THE COMMUNITY
An extraordinary exhibit of relics of saints will tour Florida in May and June. Companions of the Cross Father Carlos Martins, director of the Treasures of the Church Ministry and a Vatican-appointed expert on relics, will be visiting parishes with a collection of over 160 relics owned by the Vatican. The tour opens in the Diocese of St. Augustine on May 4, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Gainesville. The exhibit begins at 6:30 p.m. 
 
Father Martins will talk about the spiritual significance of relics to Catholics. Visitors will be able to examine and venerate mostly first-class relics from the Apostles, St. Mary Magdalene, St. Joseph, St. Maria Goretti, St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Thomas Aquinas, as well as a portion of the Veil of Our Lady, and one of the largest remaining pieces of the True Cross outside the Vatican.

The St. Augustine History Festival
Five venues of the Diocese of St. Augustine will participate in the upcoming St. Augustine History Festival. The goal is to showcase every era of St. Augustine’s long and storied past through the 21 Special Events and Historic Venues. The Catholic sites participating will feature a scavenger hunt, and they include the Archives of the Diocese of St. Augustine, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, Father Miguel O’Reilly House Museum, the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche at Mission Nombre de Dios, and the Sisters of St. Joseph.
