Harvest partners at 6th Grain have kicked off the New Year strong, releasing their exciting new crop mapping website and aiming to create 2019 maize maps for the entire continent of Africa in the next few months.
The paper documented the CM4EW’s role in providing consensus based crop condition assessments for at-risk countries to reduce uncertainty for food security decision-making.

Dr. Inbal Becker-Reshef (NASA Harvest Director) is co-organizing a session on Improving Food Security Policies: Innovative Agriculture and Market Monitoring , which is sure to be of particular interest to the community. Dr. Catherine Nakalembe (NASA Harvest Eastern Africa Lead) will present her paper on Integrating Earth Observations in National Agriculture Monitoring for Food Security which has also been selected as a focus for a press conference.
NASA Harvest has been selected as the inaugural winner of the 2020 NASDA Winter Policy Conference competitive speaker process! From hemp to rural broadband, policy discussions held at this national conference will focus on the key issues that we as leaders in American agriculture have the opportunity to unite around. Chris Justice, Alyssa Whitcraft, and Jean-Claude Roger will represent NASA Harvest at various sessions during the 2020 IGARSS Symposium . Conference topics will center around modern remote sensing developments, scientific collaboration and idea-exchange, identification of trends in the industry, and networking across the international remote sensing community. Session details are forthcoming, but here is a sneak peak of what Harvest has planned.
