SPOTLIGHT
Player & Buddy
Seanny & Miranda Boheme (brother & sister duo)

Seanny Boheme is 15 years old. He has been a Miracle League baseball player since its first season in 2007, when he was just 5 years old.  Seanny has a genetic condition that causes moderate cognitive deficits, minor motor problems, and auditory processing disorder which prevents him from understanding spoken communication.  Although initially we were told he would probably never talk, through sign language he was able to learn numerous words to communicate and is able to do school work at a third grade level. With such extreme deficits, it is tremendously difficult for Seanny to socially connect with people or participate in activities. However, he has been able to do both as a player in the Miracle League, where all of the volunteers go above and beyond to reach out to Seanny to both socialize and help him participate in the game.  Our family has so many memories that we never thought would be possible, and now that the field will have lights, we look forward to many more years of wonderful memories.

Miranda Boheme is 17 years old.  She has been a Miracle League buddy for her brother for the last 7 years. She loved being a buddy so much; she has recruited friends to participate as buddies as well.  She is currently a senior at West Boca High School, where she is in the Medical Academy.  She is a member of the West Boca Vanguard, where she is an officer and plays bassoon, oboe, and saxophone.  She also participates in All Star cheerleading at Palm Beach Lightning, where she is on the Senior 4 Diamonds team.    She has been accepted to FAU, UCF, and FSU, but has not yet decided which she will attend.  She plans on pursuing a pre-med major as she follows her dream of being a veterinarian.
