'There's so much more to learn' — UK student Princess Agbozo blazes her own trail

Originally from Ghana, first-generation student Princess Magor Agbozo came to the University of Kentucky with a desire to help others. Now a junior at CPH, Agbozo feels that she has grown over the past few years as a student and is blazing her path to pursue a career in global health.

UK Researchers Study COVID-19 Vaccination Hesitancy in 5-year, $3.7 million K-VAC Project

CPH researchers, in collaboration with investigators from the College of Medicine and the College of Communication and Information at UK, and the Kentucky Department for Public Health, are leading a 5-year, $3.7 million project to study COVID-19 vaccination hesitancy in Eastern Kentucky. 

Alumnus Dr. Dia Obonyo, leader in the creation of Kentucky's first Hepatitis C Elimination Plan

The Kentucky Department for Public Health Viral Hepatitis Program (VHP) has created the first Hepatitis C Elimination Plan in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. CPH alum Dr. Dia Obonyo, VHP’s prevention coordinator, was instrumental in the development of the Hepatitis C Elimination Plan.  

KIPRC receives $2.2 million to evaluate Kentucky substance use disorder recovery program

The Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center (KIPRC) was recently awarded a $2.2 million grant to evaluate the Kentucky Access to Recovery (KATR) program, which helps individuals recovering from opioid use disorder or stimulant use disorder or who have a history of overdose from opioid use.

UK College of Public Health faculty and staff present research at AHA Scientific Sessions

Dr. Meredith Duncan and Kory Heier recently presented their research posters at the American Heart Association's (AHA) 2022 Scientific Sessions, which attracts a global network of medical professionals and researchers that participate in lecture and discussions about basic, translational, clinical and population science.

Meet Alum, Kelsey Carter: A First-Generation Success Story

Meet alum Kelsey Carter, Research Program Manager at CPH and first-generation graduate from the very first Bachelor of Public Health cohort in 2016. Originally from Scottsville, Kentucky, the birthplace of what would become the Dollar General store chain, Kelsey always somehow knew that she was going to the University of Kentucky.
