Health Education Building: A new, world-class medical education facility
The College of Public Health will have a new home, projected in late 2026, in the Health Education Building (HEB) at the University of Kentucky. The HEB will be a future site of world-class medical education facilities for the UK College of Medicine, Public Health, Health Sciences and Nursing.

Registration is open for the 2023 Public Health Showcase event, sponsored by CPH, which is a unique opportunity for sharing innovative and creative work in public health research, community practice, networking, teaching, and workforce development. This event will be held in person on Monday, April 10, 2023, at the UK Gatton Student Center at 11:30am - 3:30pm.

Christopher Otieno is a current student in the Bachelor of Public Health program at CPH. Many students find themselves pursuing public health education and careers because they want to make an impact in creating healthier communities and help as many people as possible. The University of Kentucky has recently released its Dean's List for the Fall 2022 semester. A total of 8,512 students were recognized for their outstanding academic performance and approximately 150 represented CPH. | |

Three Kentucky state universities, led by the University of Kentucky, received a $1.5 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to grow and diversify the public health workforce through the Public Health Scholarship Program — attracting aspiring public health professionals, retaining current students and engaging public health professionals in a range of educational, training and experiential learning opportunities. | |

Building on the University of Kentucky’s commitment to student success, our Dr. Corrine Williams, Associate Professor in the Department of Health, Behavior & Society at CPH, has accepted the role of associate vice president for student well-being in the Office for Student Success on a permanent basis. | |

Dr. Keith R. Knapp, Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy at CPH, will be inducted into the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) 2023 Hall of Fame which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the ACHCA over an extended period or have provided a unique and lasting contribution to the College. | |

Daniel Saman, DrPH, MPH, is a first-generation college graduate and alum of the Doctor of Public Health (’11) and Master of Public Health (’08) in epidemiology programs at CPH and is currently the director and senior advisor of health outcomes at Carle Foundation Hospital, which is part of the Carle Health system. | | | | |
