For 24 hours on April 19, 2023, our UK community will come together to celebrate the university’s giving day, One Day for UK, and support their favorite college, program or cause.

This year, CPH is asking for our community to support the College of Public Health Excellence Fund which provides support into areas with the greatest need, making a big impact by strengthening every area of the college.

In celebration of Black History Month, the Master of Health Administration Student Association (MHASA) recently hosted "The Melanin Elements of Healthcare", an interactive event which invited nationally renowned healthcare leaders and a historian to share insights and ideas to broaden the discussion around the melanin elements of healthcare.

First-generation alumna Dr. Regina Washington was the first African American graduate student to graduate from CPH with her Doctor in Public Health (DrPH) in 2006. Regina strongly believes that faith, family, perseverance, positivity, health and well-being, and education are some of the key drivers to happiness in her life.

Our MHA case competition team competed and placed 4th (out of 42 teams) recently in the 17th Annual UAB Health Administration Case Competition and L.R. (Rush) Jordan Endowed Lecture, providing graduate students from CAHME-accredited programs an opportunity to put what they have learned into practice with a real-life, real-time case.

For alumna Olivia Ramirez (MPH ’19), communications are an essential part of public health. In her current role as director, public affairs at M Booth Health, she applies the skills and knowledge she gained studying at the UK College of Communication and Information and CPH to help health messages reach those who need them.

The Master of Science in Biostatistics (MSBST) program launched the first cohort in Fall of 2022, which carries a certain prestige and honor for first-generation American student Caitline Phan. After graduating from the MSBST program, Catiline's goal is to become a data analyst.

Our MHA program is more than just a degree, it’s a unique opportunity to train students while they learn and be ready to lead when they graduate. It's "perfectly designed" for leaders in healthcare and graduates are accepting positions at reputable healthcare organizations all over the country, including Kentucky.
