Some members have been inquiring about the program that the Department of Community and Economic Development announced regarding hazard pay for essential workers. PAA reached out to the department for some clarification on eligibility.

Unfortunately, apartment management companies are not eligible to apply on behalf of their maintenance technicians. The confusion was in the eligibility guidelines that listed janitorial services. However, the company is the one to apply and the company must be a janitorial services type company. Most of the applicants have been health care agencies, but some of our associate members may be eligible if their companies could be considered janitorial services.
