Community Reminders
  • If you want to lease your home, you MUST apply for HOA approval first!! We have dropped just below the 20% leasing cap, but we will continue to follow the application process. At this time there is no waiting list.
  • If a streetlight near your home has burned out or is cycling, call Duke Power directly at (800) 653-5307. Even easier, go online: www.dukeenergy.com and select ‘outage and storm information’ to submit electronically. They will request a physical address– any address near the streetlight will suffice.
  • Holiday decorations should be down by now. According to the Governing Documents, holiday decorations must be taken down no more than 30 days after the holiday and should not be put out more than 30 days in advance of the holiday.
  • Trash cans are not to be brought to the curb before Wednesday evening and must be removed by Friday.
  • Pick up after your pet!! Remove pet droppings from Common Areas and regularly from your yard to reduce odor and nuisance that can affect your neighbors.
  • Remember pets must be on leash when not fenced in. This is a critical requirement for safety! One of our residents has had her own dogs attacked twice (one of them killed) by another resident’s dog. Leash laws are also a County ordinance. Cabarrus county fines for violation of the leash law are as follows:
1st offense - $50.00, 2nd offense - $150.00, 3rd offense - $250.00 State

Statute: NC ST § 67-1 to 18; NC ST § 130A-196, 130A-200 These North Carolina statutes comprise the state's dangerous dog and dog bite laws.  Among the provisions include misdemeanor penalties for an owner if a dangerous dog attacks a person and causes physical injuries requiring medical treatment in excess of one hundred dollars ($100.00) and strict liability in civil damages for any injuries or property damage the dog inflicts upon a person, his property, or another animal.  Another statute provides that any person brought to receive medical treatment for a dog bite must report it to the local health director and the animal must be confined for a ten day observation period.

50Meter Pool Being Resurfaced

Every 10-12 years the plaster coating of a pool needs to be resurfaced. The Moss Creek Pool facility is 12 years old. The contractors are ripping out and installing new tiles inside the pool, the tiles on the outside rim are being replaced with a surface called 'pebble tec' and the new plaster surfacing will include blue quartz. No worries! The work will be completed before the 2016 pool season begins!
