Whenever the holiday season arrives, I enjoy taking some time to reflect on the year that will soon draw to a close. This year, what resonates the most is passion, specifically, the passion our board members, staff, donors, and network of community partners have for Delivering Good and those we serve. Thanks to you, our organization allows us to improve the lives of millions of children and adults around the world. As we give thanks for the bounty of success, comfort and community with which we are surrounded, may we remember that it may not be such a 'wUNDERful' time of year for those children and families who have been impacted by natural disasters or living under the poverty threshold. With that in mind, I offer my most sincere thanks for your support in helping Delivering Good continue to make an impact on so many - this season, and always.

Delivering Good’s 2018 Annual Gala
was a night filled with inspiring stories, sincere reflection on the unfortunate events that occurred last year, and the joy from delivering good to those in need. This year’s event, held on November 7th at the Ziegfeld Ballroom, honored five outstanding individuals,
Haim Dabah, Founder and Chief Giving Officer of KIDBOX and Managing Partner of HDS Capital; Gabriel Hamani, CEO of BHI; Annette Repasch, Group Vice President of Softlines at Meijer, Inc.; Jamie Salter, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Authentic Brands Group; and Nick Woodhouse, President and CMO of Authentic Brands Group.
Each honoree embodies the importance of giving back to children and families in need on a daily basis and has integrated a passion for philanthropy in his or her work. To kick off the night, Ripe The Band treated guests with a musical performance that encouraged all our guests to dance and celebrate. Three powerhouse special guests

Carson Kressley, Shaquille O’Neal and Pnina Tornai,
introduced our impressive honorees, giving thanks for the inspiration and influence on their respective lives and careers. In total, the event raised over
$1.8 million
to aid those affected by natural disaster and poverty.

This winter, hundreds of families will take on the harsh conditions of a long, cold winter without the warmth of a coat. Many of us might take the feeling of being wrapped up in a warm coat on a cold winter night for granted, however, for many families across the United States, a warm coat would be a blessing.

In October,
Delivering Good's CEO, Lisa Gurwitch,
visited Puerto Rico along with some of the organization’s most active friends and supporters in a series of meetings and events to help those impacted by the 2017 hurricanes.
From distribution events at schools to home visits of families and individuals still recovering, Delivering Good mobilized companies to provide local organizations with the essential supplies and merchandise required to move closer to a sense of normalcy.

While attending her first Annual KIDS Gala in 2006, Mee was inspired by Delivering Good’s mission and the compelling words then-Senator Barack Obama had to say about the organization

To kick off Shoesgiving,
Easy Spirit
,
along with the
Delivering Good
team distributed footwear to the women at DOROT on November 14
th
. DOROT is an NYC-based nonprofit organization whose goal is to alleviate social isolation among the elderly and provide services to help them live independently.
The Easy Spirit team spent the afternoon at the community center and distributed shoes that were donated through Delivering Good to members of the program.

Delivering Good is still actively responding to the
California Wildfires
as well as
Hurricanes Michael and Florence
. One year later, we are also still responding to the needs of the people affected by
Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.
As always, we are still very much in need of new essentials to be distributed through our community partner network in areas affected by natural disasters. The response has been strong and the impact we've had on those affected has been great, as seen in this thank you note from
