Misa de la Solemnidad del Cuerpo y la Sangre de
Cristo, y celebración de la Primera Comunión
Happy First Friday of June, the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus! " ... the Heart of Jesus is the ultimate symbol of God’s mercy ... which represents the center, the source from which salvation flowed for all of humanity." (Pope Francis, 2013) On Friday, June 12, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, followed on June 13 by the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The memorial is described as "a celebration of the complex visceral relationship of Mary with her Son’s work of salvation: from the Incarnation, to his death and resurrection, to the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Dir. on Popular Piety and the Liturgy). What a beautiful month to welcome many back to the Cathedral and to our growing number of in-person gatherings!

Reopening and Related Updates
Lifting of Dispensation, Faithful Encouraged to Return
Cardinal Gregory and the Bishops of the Province of Baltimore this week jointly announced that the dispensation of the Sunday and Holy Day Mass obligation will be lifted beginning June 26/27. The bishops write: “We welcome and encourage the faithful to return to full in-person participation of the Sunday Eucharist, the source and summit of our Catholic faith.”
Expanded Hours and Lifting of Capacity Limit
The Cathedral doors are now open for a few more hours each weekday, and all day on Sundays! The eased restrictions are summarized below.

Masses & Hours
For the time being, to protect our entire congregation, we will continue to require masks inside the Cathedral.
On Sundays, we will do our best to seat you at a distance you are comfortable with, while also making sure there are enough seats available for everyone who comes to Mass.
We will continue to sanitize surfaces in the Cathedral on a regular basis throughout the week. Hand sanitizer is still available at all entrances and communion stations.
The votive candles are back by popular demand! We are so happy to see once again that familiar glow lighting up the candle racks with our prayers.
We will continue to livestream the 10am English Mass and the 1pm Spanish Mass on Sundays through our YouTube channel. To those of you who can come to Mass in-person, we look forward to seeing you!
Rectory Office
The rectory office is not yet open for walk-ins. Phone calls are answered Monday Friday, 10am - 3pm. Outside those hours, please leave a voicemail and we will return your call.

Marriage - "A Vocation Born from the Heart"
Click below to watch Pope Francis' June video message, The Beauty of Marriage, in which he counsels: "Marriage isn’t just a “social” act; it’s a vocation that’s born from the heart; it’s a conscious decision for the rest of one’s life that requires specific preparation. ... God has a dream for us—love—and He asks us to make it his own. Let us make our own the love which is God’s dream for us."

Petition to "Save Hyde. Save Lives."
As Catholics, we are gravely concerned about the prospect of expansion of taxpayer funding of abortion. For 45 years, the Hyde Amendment and other life-saving appropriations riders have prevented taxpayers from being forced to pay for elective abortion. The amendment has had longstanding bipartisan support since 1976 but is now at risk of being overturned. Please consider signing a USCCB-sponsored petition to Congress (Save Hyde. Save Lives.)
