$55,000 Matching Fund for November

When was the last time you were on the top of Little Scaly Mountain and

experienced the sunrise over Chinquapin? Just as the sunrise assures us of a new day, with your support we are assured of Mountain potential to make a difference in the world.

Given the atrocities in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and other places, The Mountain is a place of refuge and solace. The work which can be done at The Mountain is essential for addressing issues of justice and compassion, and for enriching many lives.

During November, contributions to the Annual Fund will be matched up to $55,000 for a total of $110,000.

  • Registration fees and other revenue cover about 75% of cost
  • Annual Fund supplements day-to-day operations for salaries, utilities, basic maintenance, and administrative expenses

Thank you to everyone supporting the work of our mission. You are making more than a financial contribution, you are making a difference!

Message from the Board -- Steven Reines

In May 2024, I will come to the end of my term on the Mountain Board of Trustees. It has been a rewarding and fulfilling experience.

I started on the board in the midst of the COVID pandemic. I was there during the hunt for our new executive director (I think we picked a great one) and I leave at the beginning of a capital campaign that will carry this wonderful place into the future.

New staff housing, already underway, will ensure we provide a safe and comfortable way of life for all who are lucky enough to call The Mountain home. There is still so much to do, so much to build upon. We have 3 open Board seats coming in May. If you have a love for this place, if you have a vision for the future of The Mountain, I highly recommend serving on the Board of Trustees. Visit our website and click on the self-nomination form. You will not regret it.
