Teachers at Learning Express PreSchool have used fall activities as opportunities for students to learn while having fun.

Students attending virtual classes carved pumpkins with Mrs. Hoover to promote school-to-home connections, sharing their creations virtually with each other. Students had previously planted pumpkin seeds with one seed actually sprouting this past Wednesday!

Mrs. Hawkins's class experimented with dried ornamental corn, rubbing the dried kernels and examining the different colors and textures. Students then used the kernels to trace various uppercase letters of the alphabet.

Pleasant Valley Elementary Costume parade
The COVID-19 pandemic has definitely affected a lot of things this year and the annual costume parade at the elementary schools was just one more thing added to the list.

Students at Pleasant Valley Elementary didn't let that dampen their spirits! Students still wore their favorite costume and were able to participate in some indoor fall activities on October 29. There was even a surprise visit by former president Abraham Lincoln!
