This open air pavilion is twice the size of Willow Cove pavilion which we used for the past two years and is situated in the middle of a large field with shade trees surrounding it. It normally accommodates 300 people with 56 picnic tables. In accordance with Hamilton’s Covid 19 rules, we will only allow 100 people under the roof with at least 6 feet physical distancing. If we have more than 100 people we will use the large grassy areas beside the pavilion. We also suggest that people bring lawn chairs. The walk route is all within the Park along the Hamilton Beach Trail – a wide paved trail, along the beautiful Lake Ontario shoreline. We encourage people to bring their own masks, food and water. We plan to have some pealable fruit available and extra water. We will have some extra masks, and lots of hand sanitizer too.
Important: We urge you to register on-line by (September 5) so we can forecast attendance, speed up registration time and take all necessary precautions to provide a safe and fun experience for all.
If you and your team choose to participate within your own neighbourhood instead but still want to join the Zoom March before setting off on your own, here’s how:
- Register for the March as you usually would.
- Form your team.
- Together, map out a route in your neighbourhood and organize your own small-scale walk, bike, hike, etc.
- Start fundraising!
- On Saturday, September 12th at 9:00 am, login to your Zoom March to be a part of the city-wide virtual March and join in on the festivities! (To access your Zoom March link, click here.)
- When you and your teammates are ready, head off and do your neighbourhood-based March activity or sit back and listen and watch our March live from the comfort of your own living room.
