Our annual Joy with my Boy event and Twirl with my Girl event are just around the corner, and we can't make them happen without YOUR help!

We are looking for a chair or two to help run this year's Joy with the Boy event. Last year, our guys had a great afternoon at Topgolf. Previous years the group has gone to a Dodgers game and rented out a movie theater. Other fun ideas include an afternoon at Dave & Buster’s. If you like to make sure our boys have another fun event please consider being a chair or a volunteer.

It was so nice. We had to do it twice! Twirl with a Girl is back! Once again, the daughter event will be a super fun dance party for our gals this time in March. We have our wonderful chairs, but need extra hands with the party planning. So if you have creative ideas about themes or decorations, and would love to get involved, please join the team. We will also need volunteers on site for decorating, assisting with any activities, and cleanup.

These events are a special tradition for our students and families. Without volunteers, we won't be able to throw these fun and much-needed events for our Meadows School community. Please sign up to volunteer today and help us create unforgettable memories for our Meadows School community!

Email Meadows Volunteers or fill out the Volunteer Form and select the Son and/ or Daughter Events.

Volunteer Spotlight

A huge thank you to Jamie Eng and Eunie Cho for hosting the Watercolor Workshop and bringing a burst of creativity and holiday cheer to our Meadows community! These two incredible volunteers crafted an unforgettable experience for students and adults allowing all to explore their artistic side. The workshop offered a fun, hands-on opportunity to learn how to paint winter-themed greeting cards and festive gift tags, just in time for the holiday season. Jamie and Eunie’s warm, encouraging approach made sure everyone, regardless of skill level, felt comfortable picking up a brush and creating something beautiful. Whether making fun keepsakes for themselves or crafting one-of-a-kind gifts for others, those who attended had a great time. Thank you, Jamie and Eunie, for sharing your artistic talents and passion with our community. You’ve not only helped us tap into our inner artists but also made this holiday season a little more colorful and crafty.

Do you know a volunteer who deserves a shout out? Nominate them for our next Volunteer Spotlight.

Funding What Matters Most to Parents

MBEF grants reflect the priorities of parents and the district, ensuring that we fund the programs and educators that matter most to our community. Through regular surveys, parents consistently identify their top priorities, with class size reduction ranking as the highest. STEAM programming, academic counseling, and visual and performing arts are also highly valued. Your input is essential in shaping our funding decisions—thank you for guiding us in supporting every student, every day. mbef.org/givetoday/

Enrollment & Assistance for Those Displaced by Fires

As wildfires continue to cause destruction in Southern California, it has been a difficult time for thousands across Los Angeles County. Our hearts are with the families impacted by the devastation. We understand that many have been displaced and uprooted from their communities, and MBUSD is here to support them during this challenging time.

The District is ready to welcome displaced students and their families who are enrolling in our schools. Families can simply bring whatever documentation they have to an MBUSD school office. If they don’t have documentation, they can still enroll, and school staff will help with the process to ensure a smooth transition. For more information, please visit here

In partnership with Redondo Beach Unified and Hermosa Beach City School District, we are coordinating efforts to promote donations to supplybank.org (endorsed by the California Department of Education) and the Red Cross

The City of Manhattan Beach has also listed ways to help victims. You can find that information here.
