Square1 Art is a company that takes student artwork and turns it into a variety of products, such as note cards, water bottles, mugs, key chains, ornaments, jewelry, pillowcases, magnets, totes, and more! Students have already created art and a personalized catalog will be sent home soon. Annual Gingerbread House Decorating Fundraiser
The Meadows Annual Gingerbread Decorating Party will take place on Wednesday, December 11th from 1:20-2:45pm in the Meadows Cafeteria!

All Meadows students, TK through 5th grade, are invited to join us after school to decorate their own pre-assembled gingerbread houses with frosting, candies and all the fixins. We will serve light snacks and refreshments, too. EDP students are more than welcome!
Deadline for ticket purchase is Wednesday, December 4, 2024. This event sells out every year, so don’t delay! Get your ticket today!!!
WHO: TK - 5th grade students
*Parents of younger kids are encouraged to help them decorate!
WHEN: Wednesday, December 11, 2024 1:20 - 2:45 pm
*TK-2 students will be picked up from their classrooms for the event. Students in grades 3-5 should walk to the cafeteria at dismissal time.
*EDP students will be escorted to EDP after the event.
WHERE: Meadows Cafeteria
PRICE: $40. Each student recieves a gingerbread house, frosting, decorations, snacks and a drink!

Mustang Trot is coming December 6th!
It's that time of year when our Mustangs lace up and get ready to run for our school in the BIGGEST fundraiser of the year! We need everyone to spread the word so we can hit our goal!

Join us for Winter Watercolor on Dec. 14!
On Saturday December 14 from 9:00-10:15am, we will be hosting a watercolor workshop open to students and adults (yes, you can join the fun) in the Meadows cafeteria. Get in the holiday spirit and learn how to paint a winter-themed greeting card and 2 gift tags step-by-step. These can be fun and original keepsakes or given with gifts this holiday season.

Halloween Candy Drive
Did your Mustang collect more Halloween candy than they could possibly eat? Girl Scout Troop 10885 is hosting a candy drive and they would love your donations. Drop off your candy in the box in the front office between 11/11 and 11/20. All candy will be donated to Shared Bread, an amazing local organization providing nourishment and care to our community members in need.

Your Voice Matters!
The MBEF Parent Survey is a chance to tell us what truly matters for your child’s education. It’s critical to our mission of aligning funding with the priorities that mean the most to you, our teachers, and our community. Please take a few moments to complete the survey. Your input will help us allocate funding for programs that best support the needs of our students.
MBEF will also be hosting a short session on the Making of Great Schools after drop-off on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at each school site. We will discuss the school funding outlook and how MBEF allocates grants to the school district. It will also be a great opportunity for you to share your funding priorities with us. The session at Meadows will take place at 8:30 in Room 21.

MBEF EXPO In Our Schools Continues Through November 22
Join us for the MBEF EXPO in Our Schools through November 22. Parents are invited into the classroom to see how the programs funded by donations to the MBEF Annual Appeal are brought to life. Check out Library, MakerSpace, Music, PE, and Science Lab. All EXPO visitors should present a photo ID at the front office.

Please join our District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) meeting on Tuesday, November 19 from 4:00-5:00 pm in the District Office Board Room. Come to learn about programs and supports for English Learners and multilingual students and provide input on ways that we can better improve those supports. See the agenda for this meeting HERE. These meetings are led by Kortney Krivokopich, English Learner TOSA. Other DELAC meetings this year: February 6 and May 8 at the District Office. All are welcome!

The MBUSD Green Committee is kicking off this year's Green Speaker Series with a panel discussion on the problems plastics pose to our environment.
Please join us to hear MBMS 6th grade Science Teacher Daniel Leonard, along with 6th-grade students Paola, Zach, Hayden & Uma; Anika Bellant, the Education Director at Algalita Marine Research and Education; and Ryan Harris, a local surfboard shaper and founder of ECObyRy, talk about the issues and discuss potential solutions.
The event will be held Tuesday, November 19 from 7-8:30 PM at Grand View Elementary’s Performing Arts Center auditorium at 2617 Bell Ave in Manhattan Beach.
The presentation will include a brief Q&A session with the panelists. Students and families are welcome.

MBMS Math Club is hosting the Math Kangaroo Competition on March 20th from 3:30-4:45 PM. Please register by December 31 to get a discount and select MBMS as the school site.

Manhattan Beach Elementary School Charity Baseball Tournament
Save the dates, January 11th-12th, for the Manhattan Beach Elementary School Charity Baseball tournament benefitting each Elementary School's PTA and the MBUSD Special Education Department! All 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are welcome. The teams will be co-ed, by grade level, and no experience is necessary!!! Come represent your school, have some fun, and raise money for a great cause! Registration will open soon!
