Daily Recitation of the Rosary

Daily recitation of the Rosary at The Grotto will take place everyday, one half hour before each Mass.

The Mysteries of the Rosary

Incorporated into the landscaping of the Peace Garden are the Mysteries of the Rosary. They are magnificently depicted in individual bronze plaques grouped into the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and Luminous mysteries.

The striking work was done by artist Mary Lewis of Rainier, Oregon, who designed and created the plaques depicting the original three Mysteries of the Rosary in 1989, and returned to the Grotto after Pope John Paul II established the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary. The Luminous Mysteries at The Grotto were dedicated in 2006.

The bas-relief interpretations are beautifully executed in bronze.

Mary Our Mother,

By praying the Holy Rosary, we our able to meditate on the life of Jesus, and on your role in his Earthly mission. As we pray for an intention with each decade, we humbly ask that you present our petitions to your beloved Son. We know that although he hears whatever we ask, our prayer will have that much more merit if you help present our request. Pray for us O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
