Issue No. 21-02
Message from NCALA President & CEO
In just a couple of months, we will be meeting IN PERSON at the Fall Conference & Trade Show! Can you believe it? While our Virtual Spring Conference was a huge success, nothing beats connecting at the annual conference and seeing the faces of our members. I can assure you that we have been busy at NCALA planning an outstanding program with dynamic speakers and interesting topics. We encourage you to support both the PAC and the Education & Research Foundation raffles at the conference. We have been collecting exciting prizes for these events. I might just beat you to a few of those prizes with my own ticket purchases!

NCALA Workforce Development Initiative
NCALA is excited to share a new initiative call Generation CARE (Connecting Assisted Living Roles, Education & Employment).

Upon forming the NCALA Workforce Development Taskforce earlier this year, providers, agency representatives, and educators have been meeting regularly to identify existing training pathways and to connect the dots so that viable solutions can be found regarding direct care workforce shortages.

What is Generation CARE?
For Employers: A collaborative developed to connect senior living providers, workforce development agencies, educators, and technology with people who are searching for a rewarding career that makes a difference in the lives of others!

For Students: Are you a Boomer looking for a flexible part-time job? A Gen X’er making a career change? A Gen Y or Z looking for a fulfilling career path?

This Web page will be updated with student information and training resources soon. If you would like to be a part of the task force, simply email Your participation would be welcomed and provide valuable insight as we move forward!
