NAMES Assembly

This past Wednesday, Notre Dame hosted the Names Can Hurt Us Assembly, which is facilitated by the Anti-Defamation League. This all-day assembly was very well received by the student body and faculty. The goal of the program is to improve school culture and climate and bring bullying - in all forms - to an end at Notre Dame. The program opened with five students sharing their personal stories of either being a target, perpetrator, ally or bystander. Speaking were Nnamdi Gogoh '12, Kelsey Senteio '12, Kereece Williams '13, Corinna Santos '12, and Michael King '13. The entire school community then had the opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences during an open mic session. Forty students and twenty faculty members had been trained to facilitate small group discussions which preceded the entire community's participation in the program's closing. There will be an open forum on Tuesday, March 13 at 2:00 pm in the cafeteria for all students and staff who would like to continue the discussion of moving Notre Dame forward in a positive direction following this powerful program.
