Football fans, get your game on!
Come down to the council tomorrow and watch the Sunday football games in our lounge and council hall on the big screens! Since we have so many members with a stake in the classic grudge match between the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers, we'll be serving special hot food selections prepared by our own GK Rob and DGK Steve, including hearty chili and authentic Buffalo-style hot wings. Food starts at 4 p.m., just in time to get your spot for kick-offs in the late-afternoon games.
Feel free to bring a dish of appetizers or snacks for the community table.

Knights Put Up Only Religious Symbol On Lake Gleneida
Do you know that with all the holiday decorations placed along Lake Gleneida each year, there is no representation of the true meaning of Christmas -- except for the one put up by the Carmel Knights of Columbus?
Sure, there are secular symbols like decorated trees, sparkling lights, wreaths, and even a menorah to celebrate Hanukkah. But nothing that celebrates the birth of the Savior of the World, Jesus Christ. After all, as the saying goes, "Jesus is the reason for the season!"
That is why our council is proud to build and display the life-size crèche in front of the St. James rectory every year, for our parishioners and the public to enjoy from Advent through the Feast of the Epiphany.
Here's a call-out to members to help us with the setup: On Saturday, November 26th, meet in front of the rectory at 9 a.m. We need the usual stuff: ladders, tools, a hay bale, Tyvek for the roof, etc. After we finish with the crèche, we will proceed to our council to decorate it for Christmas. Many hands make light work, so come down and help us out!

JOIN US SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3RD, TO KICK-OFF THE CHRISTMAS SEASON WITH YOUR COUNCIL AND OUR GREAT CARMEL COMMUNITY!
Come down to the council on Saturday, December 3rd, where we will be hosting Christmas festivities all day long!
Start bright and early by coming down in the morning to buy beautiful, handmade Christmas wreaths in great assortment of ribbons and decorations. These are sold by a local Boy Scouts of America troop to fund their youth programs. For only $20, they are an amazing bargain. These wreaths have become so popular, that pre-ordering is a must to ensure you get a wreath, as they usually sell-out by the afternoon. Contact GK Rob to place an order in advance.
Inside, starting at 3 p.m., we open our doors to the community for family fun activities, including face-painting and children's crafts. Bring you children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews -- all children are welcome.
There will also be a host of other activities around town, including breakfast with Santa, story reading, craft fairs, and the chowder tasting at Cornerstone Park. Click here for the full schedule.
Then, at 4:30 p.m., the Council will provide a free children's Christmas dinner. Adults will enjoy a pot-luck dinner, so please bring a dish for the community table. Santa will be attending, so please bring a gift (value $20) for each child you bring, for Santa to distribute.
RSVP to Anthony Falco at anthonyfalco17@gmail.com or (914) 907-4802.
