Here's the latest on what's happening at our council!

A few important reminders right up front before we get to some news stories!
- Our next council meeting is tomorrow: Wednesday, July 12th. We'll serve dinner at 6:30 p.m. and then at 7:30 we will have a brief ceremony to install Gail Driscoll Silke as President of our Ladies Auxiliary for the 2017-18 fraternal year. Our meeting will begin immediately thereafter, and promises to be brief but informative.
- There will be no Fourth Degree meeting of Mother Cabrini Assembly in July due to a conflict with the St. James Feast. Brother Sir Knights, please watch your email for a notice about the scheduling of the next meeting in August.

Annual Summer Blood Drive a Success!
Thank you to all who made our annual Summer Blood Drive on June 30th a huge success! We collected 93 units of blood, which is good on any day, but outstanding considering the terrible weather and that it fell on a holiday weekend.
Special thanks to Brother Knight Denis Hanrahan for his tireless organizational efforts, along with our friends at the Driscoll Lodge FOP, Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services, and local FDNY members, who co-sponsor our semiannual blood drives. See you all again in December!

Please Help Out By Selling C&B Books!
If you haven't already done so, please turn in your Charitable & Benevolent Program ("C&B") raffle ticket stubs and payment!
These raffles raise funds for important charities and our council keeps a portion of the cash from the sales to help with our own charitable efforts. And the best part is there's $50,000 in cash prizes -- including the $25,000 Grand Prize!
Additional ticket books are available upon request. In the event you cannot sell your tickets, please return them to the council so that we may pass them along to others for sale.
Please contact our C&B Chairman, DGK Steve Gheduzzi, with any questions or for more tickets. Please address your C&B mailings to his attention at 10 Fair Street, Carmel, NY 10512.

St. James Feast - July 19-22
On Wednesday through Saturday July 19-22, we will once again turn out in force to volunteer at The Feast of St. James, our parish's annual fundraiser and family festival. Council members will help in many ways, including as casino workers, in beverage sales, working security, staffing vendor booths, and more.
The volunteer sign-up book is now available in the Parish Office. Please sign up!

IMPORTANT UPDATE - More volunteers needed!
We need a few more members to help out with security during the four nights of the St. James Feast (July 19-22). If you can help, please sign up in the volunteer book in the Parish Office ASAP. You must sign up in advance! Any questions, please contact Warden Mike O'Brien, who is heading-up security.
Also, we need some more blackjack dealers for the casino. If you like cards and wish to deal, but are not sure of the rules, we will train you! Please call Bobby Palazzo at (845) 216-1997 and he'll arrange to give you lessons.
The parish is also looking for volunteers to work the Money Wheel table in the casino, which is easy to do and lots of fun. Sign up in the Parish Office.
Remember, the casino is located in the fully air-conditioned gym at St. James School, which is also the only place on the feast grounds where you can purchase wine and beer (as always, donated and served by the Knights of your council). Volunteer shifts can be as short as a couple of hours, so sign up to help today!

- Reconstruction of the St. James crèche is still tentatively scheduled for the weekend of July 29-30, but that may change in the next week or so. We will send out an update if it changes, but please continue to save the date. We still especially need volunteers with artistic talent to refresh and repair the statues. Please contact GK Rob if you can help. Statue repair work may be done at a separate time from the construction work, so if you can help with the statues we will accommodate your schedule.
- The KofC's New York State Council is selling tickets to the Yankees vs. Orioles game at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday, September 17th. Ticket sales will benefit Catholic education through three foundations: Futures in Education (Brooklyn Diocese), Tomorrow's Hope Foundation (Rockville Centre Diocese), and the Inner-City Scholarship Fund (New York Archdiocese), which will share in a $16 donation from the $32 price of every ticket sold. For more information or reservations, please contact Gary Leonardo at (914) 450-2417 or by email. Checks should be made payable to "NYS COUNCIL, KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS" and please put "YANKEES 2017" on the memo line. Any council member who wishes to organize a group trip to the stadium in support of this fundraiser should please let GK Rob know and we will look into promoting this as a council-wide excursion.
