The Disaster Preparedness team in the Episcopal Church in Delaware has diligently worked on organizing and formulating recommendations, procedures, and protocols for our diocese in the event of a disaster. Their focus spans natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, ice, and snow, as well as fires, civil unrest, and shootings.
This planning effort extends to individuals and families, as well as parishes, the Mission Support Office, and various organizations within the diocese. The team aims to guide everyone on where to initiate their preparedness journey and provide numerous resources applicable to each group.
Preparedness offers the assurance of resilience against the impact of disasters. Recognizing that disasters can take various forms — whether natural, pandemic, terrorism, industrial accidents, or cyberattacks — the team emphasizes the urgency of readiness. Are you prepared? Application deadline: February 16, 2024
Offering a new extended age limit, the Young Adult Service Corps (YASC) invites Episcopalians ages 21 to 35 to consider a year of international mission engagement as their “next faithful step.”
Applications for 2024-2025 placements are being accepted now and the deadline to apply online is Feb. 16.
For more than two decades, YASC participants have served in areas of administration/communication, agriculture, community development, education, health care, parish ministry/chaplaincy, social services, youth work, and more, while participating in the daily life and ministry of churches, cathedrals, and dioceses around the Anglican Communion. Since the start, volunteers have served in more than 40 countries.
