The Coverdale Window
St. James' Mill Creek, Wilmington
The plaque beneath this window reads: “This window was dedicated in loving memory of Stephen M. Coverdale, Sr., by his friends and family on Pentecost Sunday 2005. Steve was a longtime member of St. James' Episcopal Church Millcreek. His parents, William M. Coverdale, Sr., and Beulah Louise Coverdale, were married at St. James' in 1947. Steve was confirmed at St. James' in 1969 and served as an usher until his passing in 2003.” Steve's wife, Gail Coverdale said: "Mr. Beyer of Beyer Art Studio in Philadelphia met me and said he already had artwork for a window he thought would be perfect for St. James. He said the Dove would actually look like it was sitting on a perch on the window and the grape vines matched the kneelers in the church. I loved it! "

Daily Psalm and Prayer, an offering from the diocese

The Serenity Prayer –
Reinhold Niebuhr
God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
taking, as Jesus did,
this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it;
trusting that You will make all things right
if I surrender to Your will;
so that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen.
