As we enter a New Year together,
we look back at two memorable
December celebrations
Ordination to the Sacred Order of Deacons

On the Feast of St. Thomas, Saturday, December 21, Maryann Younger was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons at Christ Church Christiana Hundred, Wilmington. It was a joyful event for all in attendance.
Christmas Lessons and Carols

The first annual diocesan-wide service of Christmas Lessons and Carols, led by the Choir School of Delaware with Bishop Brown preaching, was held on Sunday, December 22, at Grace Episcopal Church, Wilmington. It was a glorious and uplifting experience.

An Icon Class
No talent or previous experience is necessary!
March 2- 6, 2020
St. Peter's Church, Lewes
St. Peter’s is again hosting the talented Mary Jane Miller for a week-long intensive class in Icon writing. This prayerful experience of five days of personal instruction will enable you to complete a beautiful traditional Orthodox icon. Miller has been an iconographer for over 25 years. She paints and teaches the ancient Byzantine style of icon writing as a prayer, from her under-standing of its spiritual and symbolic language. She teaches using a traditional medium of egg tempera and gold leaf. Her dedicated skill results in an experience that is deeply meditative as well as artistic.
