was kind enough to include the Governor's Mansion in New Bern in their mountains to the coast list of 36 must see historic homes. As North Carolina's first permanent state capitol, Tryon Palace was built for Governor William Tryon in the 1760's. Surrounded by lush gardens and other historic homes, it is the perfect way to explore some of North Carolina's rich history.
