| | | We are called to recognize the consolations present in our spiritual journey. These are manifestations of God’s glory, glimpses of a reality that transcends our earthly existence. They are gifts given through the merits of Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit, encouraging us to persevere in faith even when the path is fraught with challenges. Just as the Transfiguration revealed Jesus’ radiant glory on the mountaintop, so too does God illuminate our hearts when we seek Him in prayer and in silence. In our journey through Lent, let us embrace the sacramental life as a tangible sign of God’s enduring promise. Let our hearts, united in the covenant of love, be ever attentive to the consolations that lead us to a deeper experience of God’s presence. And in all things, let us remember that the covenant with God, sealed by His infinite love, is our sure hope and guiding light on the road to eternal life. May our journey of faith be enriched by God’s promises, guiding us toward the eternal embrace of His love. May we be reassured by the protection of Our Lady of Guadalupe, who witnesses to the fact that God trusts us.
| | | | Around the Archdiocese of San Antonio | | Holy Thursday and Seven Churches Visitation | April 17 | | Every Holy Thursday, groups of Catholic faithful embark on the Seven Churches Visitation. In this special tradition, pilgrims adore Christ in seven different altars of repose while praying and reflecting on the passion of Christ. Is your parish open the evening of Holy Thursday? Let us know by sending an email to communications@archsa.org with the subject line Holy Thursday. The information will be listed on the website. | | Next week: 24 Hours for the Lord | March 27-29 at various Jubilee Pilgrimage Sites | | |
Pope Francis has chosen for this year's 24 Hours for the Lord a particularly significant motto in this year of the Ordinary Jubilee of 2025: “You are my hope” (Ps. 71:5). 24 Hours for the Lord is a worldwide initiative begun in 2014 by the Vatican’s Dicastery for Evangelization, where parishes are encouraged to offer extended periods of Eucharistic Adoration before the exposed Blessed Sacrament, as well as the sacrament of confession, to help people experience more fully the joy of the fourth Sunday of Lent, and to encourage repentance in preparation for Easter.
In celebration of the 2025 Jubilee Year, all are invited to participate as part of your Lenten devotions. Visit the website to find a celebration near you.

The upgrades came as the result of a generous gift from the Harrison and Brittany Barnes Community Fund, aimed at refurbishing the sport court at the GCC and enhancing it with a new audio-visual system and projector. This contribution will significantly benefit the After School Program and has the potential to enrich the entire community. With this upgrade, Catholic Charities aims to create an even more vibrant and inclusive environment that fosters engagement and connection. Harrison Barnes, a player for the San Antonio Spurs, is known not only for his skills on the court but also for his commitment to philanthropic efforts through his foundation. His dedication to changing lives through love and gratitude resonates deeply with the mission of Catholic Charities, and the organization is grateful for his support. | | St. Mary’s University signed a memorandum of understanding on March 8 with Tomas Bata University in the Czech Republic city of Zlín, bringing the two institutions together to enhance international understanding and education.
