We give thanks for the gift of faith that unites us to our Risen Lord. May the Lord, who raised his Son from the dead, strengthen you in every trial, guarding your hearts against fear and filling you with joy. Pope Leo recently said: “Take courage! Without fear! Many times, in the Gospel Jesus says: ‘Do not be afraid’. We need to be courageous in the witness we give, with the world and above all with life: giving life, serving, sometimes with great sacrifices in order to live out this very mission.” We give thanks to Almighty God for the recent election of the Pope, whom the Holy Spirit has set over our universal family. We pray for him, that under his guidance the Church may grow ever more faithful to her divine mission. May your souls be bold in faith, gentle in service, and rich in compassion.

United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
Action Alert
| | |
The Archdiocese of San Antonio urges Catholics to stand up for the most vulnerable among us. The Budget Reconciliation Act will impact families, the most vulnerable, and those already struggling to meet their basic needs. This legislation undermines the core principles of Catholic Social Teaching, particularly our call to uphold human dignity, protect the poor and marginalized, and promote the common good.
Considering this, we are asking parishioners across the archdiocese to contact their representatives and respectfully urge them to oppose this bill. A simple call or message from a faith perspective can make a powerful difference. Make your concerns known to your representatives through the resources available on the USCCB Action Center website.

Jubilee 2025: Pilgrims of Hope
Visit Mission Concepción
| | |
Mission Nuestra Señora de la Purisima Concepción de Acuña was completed in 1755 and is the oldest unrestored stone church in the United States. But unrestored does not mean unchanged. Originally it had colorful exterior decorations and numerous frescoes within the church, portions of which are still visible. The church is named in honor of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, another name for the Virgin Mary, Jesus’s Mother. Inside you will see several images of the Virgin Mary. The presider’s chair at Mission Concepcion was the chair St. John Paul II used when it was at San Fernando’s during his papal visit to San Antonio in 1987.
Plan your visit to Mission Concepción and learn more about the Jubilee Year of Hope today.
