| | | You are nourished at the table in the Eucharist — the same table where the Lord Jesus gathers His Body, the same breaking of bread that makes us one. The Spirit of Truth will testify — and so will you — in a world that sometimes does not want to hear. You will encounter indifference more than hostility, quiet resistance more than open persecution. And yet the Lord Jesus says: “I have told you this so that you may not fall away.” He does not spare you the difficulty; He gives you the map before the journey. That is not a threat — that is a gift. So where do you stand? You stand inside the Paschal Mystery — baptism, Eucharist, the dying and rising that is every faithful ministry — and you are sent outward from that center. Not as lone voices, but as one heart, one mind, one Body. Be always seeking more: more unity, deeper communion, more fruitfulness. Never settle for less than what the Spirit is offering. The harvest is real. The door is open. Go forth from the altar knowing that you are accompanied. Our Lady of Guadalupe said to St. Juan Diego, “Am I not here, I who am your Mother?” She walks with you still.

The Pentecost Novena begins Today: Pray with Archbishop Gustavo
Pentecost Vigil Mass on Saturday, May 23, at 5 p.m., at Church of the Holy Spirit
| | From today through Saturday, May 23, the Universal Church joins Mary and the Apostles in the upper room, praying continuously for the coming of the Holy Spirit. Archbishop Gustavo invites you to pray the Pentecost Novena with him each day. This is the oldest novena in the Church, first made at the direction of the Lord himself when he sent his apostles back to Jerusalem to await the coming of the Holy Spirit. Each day prepares our hearts to receive the gifts of the Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord. Pray alone, pray with your family, or pray with your parish. Follow along with daily videos and resources online. We hope you will join us at the archdiocesan Vigil Mass of Pentecost next Saturday, May 23, at Church of the Holy Spirit (directions), where this Novena will reach its fulfillment. | | |

When a Family Carries an Invisible Weight
Saturday, May 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at St. Jude Church
| | The grief of having a loved one in prison, on probation, or returning home is real, and it is often carried in silence. Spouses fall asleep alone. Children ask questions that have no easy answers. Parents wonder what they could have done differently. In Matthew 25, the Lord names this reality directly when he tells his disciples, "I was in prison and you visited me." His care extends not only to the one inside the walls but to every family member who waits, prays, and hopes for their return. The archdiocesan Criminal Justice Ministry invites you to Families United in Faith, a morning of sharing, support, prayer, and healing at St. Jude Church (directions). A free breakfast is provided. All are welcome. | | |
A Mass for Persons with Disabilities
Saturday, May 30, at 5:30 p.m., at St. Luke Church
| | Every person is made in God's image, and that dignity comes before anything we can measure, achieve, or contribute. It is the first word the Church speaks about every one of us, and it shapes how we gather. On Saturday, May 30, Archbishop Gustavo will celebrate the annual Mass for Persons with Disabilities at St. Luke Church (directions). People with disabilities, their families, and their caregivers are warmly invited to a sensory-friendly liturgy that includes softer music, shorter readings, and a calm, judgment-free space. Pope Leo XIV reminds us that on every human face “there is the reflection of the Creator's goodness, a light that no darkness can erase.” All are welcome. | | |
