Message from Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS

Most Rev. Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS

At the beginning of a new year, we want to entrust ourselves to Mary to help us prepare ourselves, so that the Holy Spirit makes Jesus present in all our purposes and actions. We want to open ourselves to God's blessing through Mary so that, united with Jesus, we become a blessing to our neighbors and thus give greater glory to God. Those who have recognized their Savior in Jesus cannot remain silent, but rather feel the impulse of the Holy Spirit to announce salvation to the entire world. The Word and the life of God are inseparable. The sign of the true encounter with Jesus is the transformation of the heart that makes us behave as true children of God and Mary. The consequences will not be long in coming. Let us ask the Mother of Him for whom we live, St. Mary of Guadalupe, to help us believe in the impossible, and to contemplate and meditate in our hearts the mysteries of our salvation. May the mystery of God become present in our lives through the work of the one who can do everything.

The Epiphany Of Our Lord | Feast Day January 6

The Epiphany of Our Lord is the Christian feast observed on Jan. 6, 2016. The word “epiphany” comes from the Greek epiphainen, a verb that means "to shine upon," "to manifest," or “to make known.” Thus, the feast of the Epiphany celebrates the many ways that Christ has made Himself known to the world, mainly the three events that manifested the mission and divinity of Christ: the visit of the Magi (Matthew 2:1-12), the baptism of Jesus (Mark 1:9-11), and the miracle at Cana (John 2:1-11). The visit of the Magi is emphasized on Epiphany Day, and Christ's baptism is celebrated the first Sunday that follows.
