Pope Leo XIV accepts Constitution Center 2026 Liberty Medal

Pope Leo XIV said he was “honored” to accept the 2026 Liberty Medal from the National Constitution Center (NCC) in livestreamed remarks delivered for the ceremony in Philadelphia on July 3.

Message from Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS

The shape of every vocation, brothers and sisters: is not first a demand, but a door. Baptism opened that door in us. We did not invent this newness. We received it. Jesus tells His apostles that whoever does not take up the cross is not worthy of Him, that whoever loses life for His sake will find it. We find life by losing the smaller life we were guarding. Pope Leo XIV has said: “It is in giving of ourselves that we truly live. Otherwise, we spin in a void.” Every Christian vocation – marriage, priesthood, apostolic celibacy, the ordinary work of our hands – only makes sense pointed toward that same surrender. Even the smallest gesture counts. Nothing offered in love is ever wasted – not the bed, not the lamp, not the water. Choose one person who needs your welcome – a phone call, a seat at your table, a returned visit – and give it before the week ends. Let your hospitality be your cross, and your cross be your life.

Faith Grows in the Everyday Moments

All Summer | #GodOnTheGoSA

Parents often wonder how to hand on the faith in a busy season. Scripture offers a gentle answer. Speak of God “at home and abroad, whether you are busy or at rest” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7). The God on the Go Summer Challenge turns that wisdom into something your family can hold. When your Buddy comes to the dinner table or rides along on vacation, faith becomes a natural part of the conversation rather than a lesson set apart. Children remember what they experience together, and there is still plenty of summer ahead to begin.

Download your Buddy and continue your family’s summer challenge.

Mercy That Changes the Future

Prison ministry is not only an act of compassion. It bears measurable fruit. In 2025, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice studied how often released inmates return to prison within three years. While the system-wide rate averages about 20 percent, the rate for those who attended a Kolbe retreat was about 11.5 percent, roughly 43 percent lower. Behind that number are real conversions: men and women who rediscover their dignity as sons and daughters of God. At the 11th Annual Kolbe Prison Ministries Conference, you will learn how three-day retreats, the sacraments, and ongoing formation open the door to redemption. Come and see why so many volunteers say they receive far more than they give.

His perspective is a powerful reminder that the American story is enriched by people of every background who have answered God's call to serve.

Watch the full interview now with CTSA as we celebrate the nation's past, present, and future through the lens of faith.

The Catholic Charities annual Summer Bash at St. PJ’s Home on July 1 was the perfect opportunity to celebrate another incredible year of service, recognize staff milestones, and enjoy time together outside of the office. From friendly games and great food to dancing and plenty of laughter, it was a day to remember.
